Having worked with buyers and sellers for over 30 years there are things I have seen that make sense and other things that don’t. You need to look at it from a re-sale perspective.
One big item would be not to over improve. Some things that work are new counter tops and perhaps cabinets. In some price points painting the cabinets will work. New appliances is a plus. Paint makes it look fresh and clean, Be careful with colors – don’t go crazy.
Don’t spend more than you can recoup.
Don’t over decorate. Keep things simple and user friendly. Think of a model home. These homes are professionally decorated for a reason and that is what buyers like to see.
Don’t get intimidated about showing feedback. Discuss this with your Realtor.
